The president and two deputies were elected for a period of three years at the EFA delegate meeting in Manchester in May 2019.
Enrique Lorca (ES), was elected for as President
Manuel Picardi (IT), 1st Vice President was re-elected for a further term
Herbert Wiedermann (AT) was elected for the first time as 2nd Vice President
After his election new President Enrique Lorca thanked members for their confidence in him and said that it was a pleasure for him to be elected in Manchester where he had once studied as a student. He spoke about EFAs role in training in the future and suggested EFA should produce a white paper based on EFAs benchmarks to go forward to the EU commission. He then went on to talk about the need to have the associations headquarters in Brussels and he expanded upon the need for EFA to become better at influencing EU policy and explained that was the rationale behind idea of Manuel Picardi agreeing to take on the role of general secretary. The President also asked John Lepine (past president) to continue looking after the finance of the association until the changeover to Brussels had taken place.
