The president and two deputies were elected for a three-year term at the EFA delegates meeting in Manchester in May 2019.
Enrique Lorca (ES), was elected for President
Manuel Picardi (IT), 1st Vice President was re-elected for a new term
Herber Wiebermann (AU), was elected as 2nd vice President.
After his election, the new president Enrique Lorca thanked the members for the trust placed in him and said that it was a pleasure for him to be elected in Manchester, where he had studied as a student. He spoke about the role of EFA in training going forward and suggested that EFA should produce a white paper based on the EFA benchmarks to present to the EU commission. He then went on to talk about the need to have the headquarters of the associations in Brussels and expanded on the need for EFA to better influence EU policy and explained that this was the rationale behind the idea that Manuel Picardi agreed to assume the role of general secretary.
The president also asked John Lepine (former president) to remain in charge of the association’s finances.
Following the sudden death of the Austrian colleague Herbert Wiedermann who held the position of EFA 2nd Vice President, Stefan Ebner (AU) was elected as 2nd Vice President.
The EFA Board is also assisted by:
Auditor: Kurt Bartels (DE) – Treasurer: John Lepine (GB)
